January 2009 - Net foreign investments in Albania reached EUR 380 million , during the nine months ending Sept. 30, Bank of Albania data shows. Net foreign investments increased by 2.6 per cent compared to the same period 2007.
We are seeing a large number of the bigger companies from across
Europe, looking to invest in large scale projects of shops, offices and
land. This interest and investment is expected to continue through
2009.
The major part of foreign investments, almost 64 per cent derives from investments in the financial sector, mainly with commercial banks. Banks invested almost double the previous year 2007.
