Jan 21st - A travel writer has explained why a growing number of foreign visitors are being attracted to Albania.
As we are fully aware, Albania, still remains relatively unknown as a holiday destination in Europe but Heather Cowper of www.balkantravellers.com claims that recent investments in Albania's infrastructure are set to boost the country and could make it a major Mediterranean destination.
She explains that the country has much to offer adventurous travellers, with its beaches and coastline particularly impressive for those who enjoy beach holidays.
Albania has 450 kilometres of coastline and the resort of Durres is already a popular location for holidaymakers, while resorts on the southern Ionian coastline are less busy and offer a variety of watersports.
Other reasons to visit Albania include its rich culture and heritage. It has an exhaustive supply of historical monuments, castles, theatres etc.
The landscape is for the most, wild and stunning and yet remains calm and passive.
The economy is steady and has recorded 9.9% growth in the four quaters to Sept 2008.
