Albania\'s PM discusses his priority for developing the tourism sector

Prime Minister Rama in meeting with representatives of business and entrepreneurship and discuss his priority in the tourism sector. In his speech he said:

\"In terms of tourism. In the first place, I believe we share the pleasure that Albania was described by one of the most prestigious point of reference when it comes to tourism, \"New York Times\" as one of 54 destinations to visit and was ranked 4-ta. Of course, there has been Albania even when we were not. Her beauty that God ever created or nature area where we have blessed this country but can not hide his satisfaction that demolition of constructions on the Ionian coast were the reason why attention was drawn to Albania.

And, as written in the description of the \"New York Times\" had a motive to refer to Albania, a country with its own wonders gjithëhershme, but also where there is a determination to protect this great fortune that we we have not established themselves and can be proud that we have done anything else but that should feel guilty that we have damaged as possible, in all these years, by the property.

We have said and let me to take this opportunity once again to answer in general for our commitments. Our commitments are commitments that are taken, to be held and that we have an obligation to keep the bow of a mandate, which is 4 years.

In this particular case, has been part of the debate and technical discussions with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank within the National Economic Council, the issue of VAT tourism. We wanted to do as an exception to the other parts, because we have other commitments to VAT, ranging from VAT food basket. This we have done, because it is a very low income coming into the state budget today. Very low, if not ridiculous. It\'s a ridiculous move, which comes from very high informality in the hotel sector. Not have been possible to do.Practically, we do not make any exception from VAT, to set the foundation first.

Of course, in the time ahead, I am confident this opportunity will be created. But in parallel with this, we must fall together in one mind that the hotel sector needs formalization. That turns us into a hotel, on average, each working a half. So formalized employees in the tourism sector, if we take the number of hotels, would be as much as 50% have hotels and more. It is ridiculous. We must fight together to formalize this sector as much, so the incentive for the government to facilitate the sector to be larger. But the stimulus for you, be greater.

Ministry of Social Welfare is committed to cooperation with you to build and implement the plan formalization of employees who are in the hotel sector, primarily because it is the biggest problem we have.

Regarding concessions, we have canceled a lot. We will continue to look carefully. We have not ever been and there are absolutely against concessions to practice, but we have been and are firmly against the return of this practice, which is one of the instruments to stimulate investment and development, in a corrupt practice, in an arbitrary practice for privileged few at the expense of all others and impinged competition.

I want to share with you, that the cancellation of inappropriate practices, because the competition is abuse and the law, is not something that is done with a stroke of the pen. Each concession requires analysis and decision-making requires based on the law. Soon will advance even with some concessions that have turned into a problem. He fiscal stamps, but take one example, is a very big problem. It is a very big problem, because there is no guarantee the quality of the service change.\"
